Uses

Sodium hypophosphite is used:

- as a reducing agent in Ni, Co, Sn-coatings for application onto metals and plastics;

- as an antioxidant (reduces the discolouration of alkyd resins during their preparation);

- as a stabilizing agent for PVC and polyurethanes;

- as a reagent for the photometric determination of As (III) and Sb (III), etc.
